Philcon (Cherry Hill, Nov 2013)
Name: Philcon 2013
Topic: SF, fantasy, horror; books, media, anime; games, art, costumes
Days: 3
Dates: Fri 8 Nov to Sun 10 Nov 2013
Location: Crowne Plaza Hotel, Cherry Hill, NJ (east of Philadelphia)
2013.philcon.org/
Same venue as the past two years, probably the same space (i.e., a corner of the Art Show in one of the ballrooms), and hence probably the same compromises re: size and prominence. People don't think to look for us, and in the back corner, we're invisible from the hall -- and given the doors, even in the front we'd be obscured. So Art Show management (Joni Dashoff) doesn't see us as a draw. OTOH, Philcon's ahead of the game this year (all headline guests have been arranged), so maybe we can get more prominence on the website.
Maybe the resurgent Moonbase community would be interested, if enough of them are in Philcon's footprint? Are there any upcoming moonbase collaborative layouts we can promote to Philcon? And apparently I don't know where online they organize -- is it just Facebook? Yo, Mac?
